Cape Cod Residential Moving Company

Looking to move to the Cape or Islands? Make sure you hire a moving company during the winter or early spring!

If you’re moving from the Boston area to the Cape, Martha’s Vineyard, or Nantucket you’ll need a Cape Cod residential moving company. However, whether you’re relocating full-time or just ferrying items between your home and your vacation residence, it’s always a good idea to get it done in the off-season.

If you’ve spent any time on the Cape during the summer, you know that getting down there from Boston is an all-day activity. That’s why if you (or your movers) are driving a truck, it’s best to do so in the winter if at all possible.

Winter Moving isn’t ideal, but sometimes it’s necessary

Of course, it’s not always easiest to move during the winter. Nobody likes to move furniture in harsh weather conditions. But remember that Cape Cod welcomes more than four million visitors every year! To put that in perspective, that’s about two-thirds of the entire population of Massachusetts. And of those visitors, the vast majority come between April and September.

So if you’re making a trip with a full truck of furniture, make sure to book your Cape Cod Residential Moving Company during a time that you can avoid major traffic delays. Additionally, if you’re going to be putting your moving truck onto a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket, you’ll want to schedule your move during a time when the Steamship Authority has room to accommodate it. Moving trucks are not amphibious vehicles. So if your movers don’t have room on the ferry back to the mainland, they’re stuck.
