Moving to Wellesley? Here are some tips from a Wellesley Moving Company!
An independent town since seceding from nearby Needham in 1881, Wellesley is probably best known as home to Wellesley College, the alma mater of former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
As one of the wealthiest towns in Massachusetts, Wellesley sports a good amount of larger single family homes. However, don’t let the size of the house fool you! Just because you’re moving into a great big mansion on a hill doesn’t mean your move will be a breeze. While parking may not be the issue it is in more urban areas like Cambridge and Boston, it’s important to tell your movers if you have a steep incline on your driveway. If the moving truck can’t safely get into the driveway, then your movers will be stuck carrying your belongings back and forth uphill all day. It’s much better for the Wellesley moving company to show up with extra movers because they know that parking will be an issue ahead of time.
Additionally, if you’re moving a full or queen box spring, it would probably be a good idea to get a split box spring. Even some of the larger Wellesley homes have old, tight stairwells despite their size, which can present problems for a Wellesley moving company.
If you’re moving to Wellesley but haven’t found a home yet, we recommend Barbara Honthumb at Century 21. We’ve moved many of her closings and her clients always rave about her.
