Boston Moving Permits: New Rules and Times

by | Apr 14, 2020

If you’re looking to get Boston Moving Permits on a normal schedule, you’re out of luck. Like everything else, Boston City Hall is on limited hours. So for the foreseeable future, you’ll have to adjust. Thankfully, Boston City Hall has posted its hours for everyone to see.

Boston City Hall will be open only on Tuesdays and Fridays. On top of that, only those with appointments will be allowed in the bullring. Be forewarned.

You can request an appointment (only for a Tuesday or a Friday) here.

So, if you need to pull and post a permit for your move, you’ll need to schedule an appointment, more or less, a week in advance. Here’s the link to schedule an appointment.

Remember, permits need to be posted at least 48 hours in advance of any move. So make sure if you’re switching this places during this time, you give City Hall enough advance notice. Otherwise, Boston Police will not enforce your reserved spots. Not during a pandemic, and not during any other time, either.
